Anthony, Albert Einstein, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Cesar Chavez, Martha Washington, Booker T. Washington and Jackie Robinson.  She has also written books about animals, insects, sports, and many science topics!

Amazing Animals
Ms. Slade will read her picture books, What’s New at the Zoo? and Animals are Sleeping with an interactive program that shares fascinating facts about many animals.   

Authors Are Awesome
Students will discover how authors turn fun facts into non-fiction books and use their creative ideas to create interesting fiction stories.  They will also hear about the publishing process and how a manuscript becomes a book.

Fascinating Figures in History
Ms. Slade will read one of her biographies and discuss the impact this individual has had in American history.  This program is especially popular in February (Black History Month) and March (Women’s History Month).
