Gretchen Schlesinger worked in publishing for more than ten years. She started at a magazine publishing company and eventually moved to a book publisher. Her publishing experience had a strong focus on marketing, editorial and licensing, which only helps her with her writing. She has taken classes at The Institute of Children’s Literature, is a member of SCBWI and has published many short stories and articles (in the adult fiction category). Her first book, Send Me the Soap #1: The Emerald Isle Adventure (Eco-thumb Publishing) was published in September, 2006. The second book in the series, Send Me the Soap #2: The Amazon Adventure will be out in October, 2007. Eco-thumb Publishing is a small independent publisher in which Gretchen plays and important role both as a writer and decision maker. Due to her commitment and book marketing efforts, they have teamed up with the Amazon Conservation Team, a donation from the sale of each book will go to helping the rain forest. Gretchen’s expertise in large publishers as well as small publishers gives her the ability to give writers real perspective in terms of publishing books, promoting them, and even more important, staying motivated and focused. Currently Gretchen lives in Naperville, Illinois, with her husband and two sons. Contact Information:
