And coming soon...

A WHIFF OF PINE, A HINT OF SKUNK
Simon & Schuster/Margaret K. McElderry Books, Spring 2009

Deborah's presentation, Penguins, Puffins, and Poems!, is best suited for students in grades K - 5. She loves introducing students to her poems in a lively, fun and informal way, using props, humor, and plenty of audience participation. Students will act out some of the poems. They'll hear about a poet's tricks of the trade. They'll even learn a little about the amazing birds themselves. Deborah will allow lots of time to answer questions: Where does she get her ideas? What is it like to publish a book? What is her favorite bird?

Here's what one of student wrote to Deborah Ruddell, after a school visit:

"Thank you very much for coming to our school. It was an honor to meet an author. I loved your book. It was a great book of bird poems. I read it to my family, and they said they were the best poems they ever heard." - Kelsey
