Students listen to zany, silly, comical, and thoughtful selections from contemporary children’s poets, and learn to identify various sound and meter techniques that are important to poetic writing. SENSE-ational WRITING: Utilizing a series of group exercises, students learn techniques to incorporate sensory detail into daily writing and poetry. “POET IN RESIDENCE” PROGRAM: Students experience a series of four classroom workshops over the course of a few weeks.
