Kevin was the artist for the Chicago Public Library 2005 and the Illinois Library Association 2006 Summer Reading Programs. Kevin is very active in using his work to teach and inspire students
of all ages (children and adults). He has given presentations and workshops
at over 300 schools, libraries, and conferences. In his interactive school
and library programs, he takes the students through the process of creating
a picture book from the basic idea to the finished product. The students
will get an up close look at sketches, drawings, and finished paintings
from his books, and even artwork he created as a child! Kevin will explain
what publishers do and how a book gets published. Students will learn
the virtues of hard work, practice, and persistence to achieve their goals.
They will also learn drawing and illustration skills as they do their
own step-by-step drawing with Kevin! His programs can be expanded into
longer workshop formats. Contact Information:
