Tom’s presentations are energetic, visual and kid-friendly. He uses lots drawings, photos, and images from his books and he always finds time to draw for the kids.

He also conducts book-making workshops for kids, incorporating the  “six traits of writing” with storytelling and art lessons.

Tom also gives presentations to adult and professional groups. He was a featured speaker at the 2008 Illinois Library Association Conference and has spoken to many library and teachers groups. He is especially passionate about talking to middle and high school students about the value of creativity regardless of ones career path.
