tophat Mary and Richard Chamberlin

Mary and Richard Chamberlin "A natural extension of their enthusiasm for kids and books." "We enjoyed both of you."

"The way you give the presentation is probably a model of how you collaborate on your writing"

Mary and Rich Chamberlin have teamed up to bring their high energy and wealth of experiences as travelers, writers, and world citizens to your school.

A husband and wife writing team living in Naperville, they've traveled around the world in search of stories - to China, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, England, and Africa - to Kenya and Tanzania. Their award winning book Mama Panya's Pancakes:A Village Tale from Kenya (published by Barefoot Books around the world) is well suited for inclusion in Social Studies or African themed curricula.

Set in Kenya, "Mama Panya's Pancakes" is the story of a young mother with barely enough money to feed her son Adika. After pointing out "he's one step ahead of her" - Adika invites all their friends to dinner - tonight! How will Mama be able to feed them all? This story of generosity and community recently was named a 2007 Storytelling World honoree, March 2007 Book of the Month from the Project on Economics and Children at Rutgers University [http://econkids.rutgers.edu], a Maryland Black Eyed Susan Picture Book for 2006-7, as well as the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio 2006 Picture Book Gold Award.
