Thank you for your interest in my work! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who began writing for children in 2000, and couldn't stop. With three children at home, I have a constant need for books of various topics... I've found that writing is a satisfying way to produce topics that aren't already available or to add to the terrific cache of published works while satisfying my own need for storytelling.
My first book, Sam's Sister, is about the loss a birth child feels after a sibling is placed for adoption. I also have several stories appearing in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. I am represented by the Jennie Dunham Agency in New York and hope to contribute more to the area of published work about the more challenging aspects of childhood.
Writing for children is a creative outlet I was surprised to find myself in after fifteen years in child welfare, but, it turns out, the two are not mutually exclusive. Books can be a tool to impart wisdom and provide comfort to anyone struggling with issues of grief and loss. I am grateful to have found this venue.
